| i know i know... it's been forever.... so the day isn't over yet, but i can still talk about the day i have had, correct? correct. so this morning i was exhausted. but i got up and went to school anyways. in trig we just went over the homework and started some new problems. it wasn't too bad. then i went to spanish and found out how much i stink at spanish. ahhh! one of the exchange students, alejandro, is a student aid in the class, and he speaks spanish, because he is from venezuela. OMYGOODNESS. i realized how much i don't know. then in science we started an experiment and got our tests back, i got a ninety! and in history i got an 89! history worried me more than science. then in english we had a discussion about rhetoric. i really like ms. loring. when i came home i did NOT want to take notes for history. so i took a nap. :) then shannon called. i realized some things last night, and it was good to voice them to someone, and i needed someone to voice them to. so it was nice that she called, even though it was to ask me to go to dance with her. but i couldn't, even though i wouldn't have, because i have one voice tonight. so after we got off the phone i did some notes, and i still have a little bit, but not too too much. i definately get hit with certain realizations randomly throughout the day. they aren't necessarily good realizations either. they can hurt. but once i realize them, it's done. and i don't have to realize it again. i just know it. maybe the way i think doesn't make sense to anyone reading it, but it makes sense to me. | | |
| O MY GOODNESS. I havn't written since NEW YEARS!!!!! So last week I went to Spam. For those of you who don't know, SPAM is a camp. Sports and Music Camp actually. We just call it SPAM. :D So here goes with my story. Well, it was the first day. So I packed up in an hour, and left around twothirty. After I was registered, they brought me up to the cabin. Most of the girls got to stay in the motel, with air conditioning, but because everyone I knew registered late, we got to stay up at Camp A in a cabin. It wasn't bad, because that meant we got to have Sara, Zoe, Mel, Christine, and I all in one cabin, and Joel, Ethan and Cory were all in the boys cabin. So after I dropped my stuff off I came back down and we all just sat in the grass and waited for it to start. I don't remember the first day much.
I do remember being upset because when we were put into teams for the sports, I was on Ethan and Alicia's. AAAGH. I didn't want to be with Ethan. And I'm not going to try and explain that whatsoever, but I will tell you that it ended up not being so bad.
Now I think I will just explain camp life to you. You wake up around 6:20 if you are staying in the cabin and want a shower, which, of course, I did. At 7:15 the van came to pick us up from Camp A and bring us to breakfast(which didn't start until 8). So in other words, while those down at SPAM got to sleep until 7:30, we got up an hour or more earlier.
After breakfast, we left the dining hall whenever we were done. Then we had a few minutes of free time to do whatever until the next bell rang, which called us to the Tabernacle for morning devotions. After five minutes of introductions to the devotions, we split off into our teams for team devotions, which lasted about twenty minutes. INTERRUPTION!! So, my team. Well we had twelve campers and four leaders and one baby. :) Starting with the leaders I suppose. Dan, he was interesting. I think the most interesting thing he said all week would make a good story. OK? So we were sitting at the basketball court, and he asked me if I wanted to play. I said no, that I was worse at basketball than I was at soccer. He turned to me and said, "Is that even possible!?" AHH. That was meaaaan. :) But he was joking. Don, I think he was nice. He really tried to help us out with the games. Jen, she was really nice. She wasn't the best at sports, but she still tried. Kim, she was awesome. She knew all our names(somehow) and cheered for everyone. She had the baby, who was ADORABLE. Now the campers. Bailer, he was definately our star. Cory, he was pretty good too. Jordan, he tried really hard, and he did really good in soccer. Ethan, he was really good too. He was an all around player. :) Christopher, he was more standoffish, but he tried really hard. The girls, Maddy, she was AMAZING at sports. Orly? I have no idea how to spell her name. But she did really well. Alicia, one of Joel and Ethan's friends, she was really good at sports as well. Gracie was really nice and quiet, she was one of my favorites. Chelsea, she was in my vocal class(explain later) and she didn't like sports too much, just like me! And me, ya... didn't help my team too much. UNINTERRUPTING!! After team devotions, we headed to our first skill session, mine was vocal. There were eight of us. We learned a song that we sang at the closing service Friday night for all the parents. In between our first skill session and our second skill session, we had a fifteen minute break. After the skill sessions, we headed off to our first team comp, which was either, volleyball, softball, ultimate frisbee, basketball or soccer. THEY MADE ME PLAY SOCCER AND BASKETBALL. ahh! ME!? :) But it was still fun. After the first team comp, we had lunch, then two back to back team comps. After our third team comp we had two hours of free time(more like shower time, we were sooo sweaty.) After free time was dinner, then youth choir. ONE HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE CAMPERS sang in a choir. omygoodness. After choir was a break, then the worship service and speaker, then another break, then the evening activity, sometimes a game, and sometimes another speaker. By the time that was over it was almost eleven, so we headed back up to Camp A. Midnight was lights out, and then it started all over again the next day. So that was a day. Now my highlights. Monday night worship service and speaker. It seemed like Bob was talking directly to me when he spoke about giving up control of what goes on in your life to God. I have so much trouble with that. I always want to control everything, I want what I want, when I want it. And God totally spoke to me and told me that I couldn't try to control my life anymore. I had to give it over to him. That night I went forward to the altar and gave up control. It's going to be a daily struggle, I mean, of course, it won't be easy, and I didn't automatically become perfect, but I am trying to give him all of my life, and let him do with it what he wants. Tuesday night during the break between worship service and the evening activity, some of us(Ethan, Alicia, Joel, Mel, Sara, Zoe, Christine, Cory, Nate, Alicia's friend, and I) went into the youth center to continue worshipping. Ethan led us on his guitar, and it was just so amazing. I have never been in a place where everyone was there for God, and not for themselves. You could feel His presence there, everyone could. By the end of the break there were eighteen campers with us worshipping God. It was just so amazing, and you can't understand what it was like unless you have experienced it. Another highlight was Cory accepting Jesus. I was so excited. Cory, I am soo happy for you, and I am so proud of you. I am always here if you need to talk to me. IT WAS AWESOME. So yes, this week was awesome. Absolutely amazing. I loved it. :) I wish it had been longer.
| HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I had so much fun last night. Mel was going to sleep over, but Ethan invited my sister and us to go to his house for a party. It was Joel, Michelle, Mel, Jack, Ethan and me, then his parents, and his sister Erin and her husband Chris. It was sooo awesome. We played Apples to Apples, and then we watched them play guitar/keyboard/drums and sing for a while, then we played on their Wii system! At ten of midnight they decided to sing worship songs to welcome in the New Year. And after that we went downstairs and played pool. Then we came back to our house. Mel and I watched Forrest Gump and we stayed up until quarter of five. Pretty good for us. It was awesome. I love New Years.
| mike moved. i've been crying quite a bit lately. kinda sad. i wish i didn't care quite this much. but he was my best friend, and pretty much the only one i trusted. i know.. weird. but he knew everything about me. luckily he still has internet, so we can still talk. i would die without that kid. soo tuesday i went to the mall with henry and his mom and three of his brothers. it was cool. then we went back to his house where i watched henry and justin skateboard, and then watched them open presents. i had so much fun. i love hanging out with henry. he's my best friend too. today jerry and katie came over and we watched a scary movie! pulse. other people said it wasn't scary, but i'm so easily scared that it was. i actually twitched and fell off the couch onto the floor! then i grabbed onto jerry's leg. i was hugging my teddy bear sooo hard. i even hid behind a chair!! mmhmm. soo i guess i'll write again sometime... | | |
